Our Approach to Teaching

We teach our students much more than what to learn: we teach them how to learn by dividing their educational goals into manageable lesson modules that build on one another.  We work with each student to design and refine a lesson plan tailored to the student’s individual goals and circumstances.

·       We begin by helping each student prioritize, based on his or her individual goals, what to learn.

·       We then customize lesson modules according to the student’s learning style, knowledge base, and skillset.

·       After, we closely measure and monitor the student’s progress in each lesson module and, if need be, refine lesson plans based on student feedback.

By synthesizing time-tested educational and project-management principles, our approach to teaching allows students to rapidly learn—and retain information regarding—even challenging materials.

Custom Learning Modules

We break down complex subjects into learning modules custom-made to be digestible for each student. This modular approach allows students to systematically acquire proficiency while simultaneously making it easier to identify any areas of struggle that require special attention.

Flexible, Continuously Improving Services

We all know different students learn in varying ways. However, even for the same student, the most effective teaching method may vary with the specific subject. Because we regularly measure, review, and discuss with our clients each student’s progress, we are well-positioned to test, and rapidly identify, the most effective learning strategies.

Coaching from Knowledgeable Staff

For many students, our tutors have not only been in their shoes: they have emerged with a track record of success in school and standardized testing.  Our staff are therefore well-suited to hold students accountable to delivering their best efforts each day, including by identifying areas of improvement, both big and small.

Increased Student Engagement:

Because we collaborate with our students to create their lesson plans and adjust our teaching based on student feedback, our students are generally more engaged in their education than they would be in many other contexts.  Higher engagement levels strongly correlate with improved knowledge retention as well as increased levels of satisfaction and confidence.
